Optimal Risk

This Level 4 course will equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to conduct an authorised, effective, physical penetration test on client sites. The aim of these tests is to assess the effectiveness of the organisation’s physical security, processes and controls.

The 5-day course has been developed by our trainers with backgrounds in specialist law enforcement, military and government service. They also have extensive experience in physical penetration testing in the commercial world. 

The areas covered include:

  • Legal and ethical aspects of physical penetration testing
  • Open source intelligence gathering (OSINT)
  • Social engineering techniques
  • Operational planning
  • Physical security systems
  • Conducting reconnaissance
  • Methods of gaining access
  • Useful equipment
  • Working in collaboration with IT penetration testers
  • Preparing and presenting the final report

This course is for those individuals who wish to develop their personal skills in Physical Penetration Testing to be able to work with companies offering this service to clients or to work within their own organisation

  

The course is based in Richmond, West London close to the station with easy access to central London. There is a wide range of accommodation and car parking options locally.

Lunch is provided when in the training centre, with tea and coffee being freely available.

The course has been accredited by Qualifications Network UK as a Level 4 award on the RQF.

Due to the sensitive nature of some of the content within this qualification, learners are required to hold a minimum of one of the following:

• DBS check appropriately successful for the sector in which the learner is intending to operate
• DBS check in progress and likely to return commensurate to employer requirements (a letter of recommendation is required from a senior officer within the learner’s organisation/institution/authority or service to support approval)
• SC1
• Development vetted (DV)
• BS 7858 screened
